Job Description
- Monitor raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Ensure adherence to systems like HACCP, ISO 22000, and local food regulations.
- Conduct physical, chemical, and microbiological tests on samples.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, deviations, and corrective actions.
- Check production processes to ensure consistency, hygiene, and proper handling.
- Identify defects or contamination issues and implement corrective/preventive actions.
- Assist in internal and external audits and ensure readiness for inspections.
- Educate production staff on hygiene, food safety, and quality standards.
Job Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 year(s) of working experience is required.
- Candidates must be a Bachelor's / College Degree holder in Chemistry or similar fields.
- Male applicants are preferred for this role.
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related field
- Understanding of methods for measuring salt content (e.g., titration or digital analyzers), sample preparation, calibration, and interpretation of results.
- Knowledge of fat/oil determination techniques (such as solvent extraction or rapid analyzers), proper handling of samples, and result validation.
- Ability to operate viscometers, understand fluid behavior, temperature control, and its impact on product consistency and quality.
- Familiarity with basic microbiology techniques including sample collection, culturing, incubation, colony counting, and maintaining sterile conditions to detect pathogens and spoilage organisms
- Knowledge of moisture determination methods (e.g., infrared drying or oven methods), calibration, and the importance of moisture levels in shelf life and product stability.
- Certifications in food safety (HACCP, ISO) are preferred
- Experience in food manufacturing or quality control is a plus
