Job Description
- Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on production machinery, conveyor systems, mixers, mills, pumps, gearboxes, motors, and other mechanical equipment used in food powder production. Diagnose faults accurately and implement effect
- Assist in the installation, commissioning, and start-up of new machinery and equipment, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, hygiene standards, and safety protocols specific to food processing.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, including work orders, service reports, and spare parts used, ensuring traceability and accountability in line with food safety and GMP standards.
- Ensure availability of critical spare parts for mechanical equipment used in food processing; raise requisitions for parts as needed and maintain proper inventory levels, considering the hygiene and safety requirements of the industry.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols, food safety standards, GMP, and hygiene procedures during all maintenance activities. Report hazards or unsafe conditions promptly to prevent contamination or accidents.
- Contribute to the identification of equipment improvements, efficiency initiatives, and process optimizations specific to food powder manufacturing
- Maintain tools and workshop equipment in good condition; ensure calibration and proper storage, supporting a clean and hygienic working environment.
- Work closely with other maintenance team members, production personnel, and supervisors to coordinate tasks, minimize production disruptions, and ensure consistent quality of the food products.
Job Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 year(s) of working experience is required.
- Candidates must be a Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate holder in Engineering(Mechanical) or similar fields.
- Male applicants are preferred for this role.
- Proven experience in mechanical maintenance within a food manufacturing environment, ideally in powder or bulk food production.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems including hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, gearboxes, and rotating equipment in food processing plants.
- Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance techniques in hygienic or food-grade facilities.
- Familiarity with mechanical tools, diagnostic equipment, and maintenance software (SAP or similar is a plus).
