Job Description

Check equipment fluids and ensure the "face" of the silage bunker is clean.
Use a loader to "shave" silage and scoop grains into the mixer while watching the digital scale.
Observe how much feed was left over from the day before (refusals) and adjust the next batch accordingly.
Sweep the feed center to prevent waste and keep pests away.

Job Qualifications

A minimum of 2 year(s) of working experience is required.
Candidates must be at least a graduate of a four-year undergraduate course.

Must have the ability to operate tractors or machinery, familiarity with nutritional requirements of animals and basic mechanical aptitude for trouble shooting.
Must be competent in operating the Total Mixed Ration (TMR) Mixer and monitoring feed mixing equipment to ensure a uniform blend of ingredients.
Must be competent in loading raw materials such as roughages, grains, supplements and concentrates according to specific recipes/formulas.
Must be competent in delivering the mixed ration directly to the feed bunk/trough twice or thrice daily.
Must be competent in conducting routine maintenance and cleaning of the mixer, such as checking for worn blades, leaking seals, and ensuring cleanliness to prevent contamination.
Must be knowledgeable in monitoring the texture and nutrient consistency of the mix, reporting malfunctions and maintaining accurate production records.
Must be able to adhere and follow farm safety protocols and keeping the work area organized.
