Job Description
- Preparing tender and contract documents, budgets, including bills of quantities with the architect and/or the client;
- Undertaking cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work
- Assisting in establishing a client's requirements and undertaking feasibility studies;
- Performing risk, value management and cost control;
- Advising on procurement strategy;
- Identifying, analyzing and developing responses to commercial risks
- Preparing and analyzing costing for tenders;
- Allocating work to subcontractors
- Providing advice on contractual claims;
- Analyzing outcomes and writing detailed progress reports;
- Valuing completed work and arranging payments
- Maintaining awareness of the different building contracts in current use
- Understanding the implications of health and safety regulations.
- Forecast the cost of the different materials needed for the project and ensure accurate cash flow
- Reporting to Managing Director and Head of QS
- Ensure that any main contracts entered into have terms and conditions that are appropriate
- Track changes to the design and/or civil & construction work and adjust budget projections accordingly
Job Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 year(s) of working experience is required.
- Candidates must be a Bachelor's / College Degree holder in Engineering(Civil) or similar fields.
- Bachelor or Degree Diploma 3 or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or other relevant discipline
- Experience at least 5 years in Quantity surveying
- Can drive and have driving license
- Preferable a good working knowledge of MS Excel, CostX, Microsoft Project, AutoCAD civil
- Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work in a team and ability to negotiate
- Attention to detail, numeracy and a methodical approach to work
