- This role is accountable for delivering sales growth, protecting margin, maintaining compliance standards, and building strong local leadership capability.
- A major focus is developing Store Managers and retail teams through structured training, coaching, and culturally aware leadership that reflects the diverse communities in which Fone Haus operates.
- Deliver sales, gross margin, and contribution targets across the area
- Drive core KPIs including device sales, accessory attachment, activations, and service metrics.
- Analyse performance data and implement corrective action plans.
- Support effective execution of national campaigns and new product launches.
- Develop local sales initiatives aligned with market conditions.
- Ensure consistent execution of retail standards and company SOPs.
- Conduct regular store visits and operational audits.
- Maintain strong stock control and loss prevention disciplines.
- Oversee compliance in cash handling, inventory management, and reporting.
- Protect brand presentation and in-store experience standards.

- Provide structured in-field coaching during store visits.
- Deliver and reinforce retail training in sales skills, product knowledge and service standards
- Build succession plans and identify high-potential local talent.
- Strengthen onboarding processes for new employees.

Job Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 year(s) of working experience is required.
- Candidates must be a Bachelor's / College Degree holder in Business Studies/Administration/Management or similar fields.
- Minimum five years’ experience in multi-site, area or regional retail or food retail leadership.
- Proven record of delivering sales growth and operational improvement.
- Demonstrated experience developing leaders and building team capability.
- Experience delivering structured retail team training and coaching.
- Strong financial literacy and KPI management capability.
- Experience leading diverse or cross-cultural teams highly regarded.
- Telecommunications, consumer electronics or high-volume retail experience highly regarded.
- Proven experience in a structured global business, eg McDonald’s highly regarded.
- Leadership or coaching certifications desirable
- Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel regularly

- The Area Operations Manager is responsible for the commercial performance, operational standards, and leadership capability of 5–9 Fone Haus retail stores across Papua New Guinea.
