Job Description
- Study blueprints/drawings, calculate dimensions, and prepare metal surfaces (cleaning, grinding)
- Fuse metal components using various techniques (MIG, TIG, Stick, etc.) and machinery
- Smooth, polish, and remove excess weld spatter or slag for a quality finish
- Check welds for flaws, ensuring they meet specifications and standards
- Adhere to strict safety rules and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Maintain and troubleshoot welding equipment and tools
- Blueprint reading & technical drawing interpretation
- Proficiency in different welding processes (MIG, TIG, Arc, etc.)
- Attention to detail and precision, Problem-solving and self-direction
- Can range from controlled factory settings to hazardous field conditions (high elevations, underwater)
- Works alongside other professionals like engineers, fabricators, and general laborers
Job Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 year(s) of working experience is required.
- Candidates must be a Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate holder in Others or similar fields.
- Male applicants are preferred for this role.
