Job Description
- Studying engineering drawings and blueprints to understand specifications, layouts, and material needs.
- Measuring, cutting, bending, and punching metal stock (plates, beams) into required shapes using various machines.
- Positioning, aligning, and fitting metal components together, often using cranes or hoists for large pieces.
- Preparing parts for, and sometimes performing, welding, riveting, or bolting them to form complete units or subassemblies.
- Verifying workpieces meet specifications using measuring tools like squares, rulers, and tapes.
Job Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 year(s) of working experience is required.
- Candidates must be at least a high school graduate.
- • 2–3 years experience installing metal systems such as Unistrut, brackets, cable trays, duct supports, racking, and mechanical fixings
- Skilled in measurement, cutting, leveling, and alignment
- Comfortable working at heights and on commercial construction sites
- Experience interpreting construction drawings, shop drawings, and layouts
- Proficient with power tools and mechanical fastening systems
- Advantageous: Background in electrical/duct installation environments or mechanical fitting
