Job Description
- Manage the full customs clearance process for imports and exports through ASYCUDA World.
- Ensure all documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, import permits, etc.) is accurate and compliant with local regulations.
- Liaise with PNG Customs, NAQIA, freight forwarders, shipping lines, and transporters to ensure timely clearance and delivery.
- Monitor and track all shipments to pre-empt clearance delays and minimize demurrage or port storage costs.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tariff classifications, duty rates, and changes in customs legislation.
- Coordinate with Procurement, Warehouse, and Finance teams to align shipments with operational requirements.
- Validate and control clearance-related costs, including duties, GST, brokerage, and logistics fees.
- Prepare and maintain complete clearance documentation and reporting for internal use and audit purposes.
- Develop and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for customs and clearance operations.
- Lead, mentor, and supervise clearance staff to ensure compliance and operational excellence.
Job Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 year(s) of working experience is required.
- Candidates must be a Bachelor's / College Degree holder in Sales & Marketing or similar fields.
- Strong working knowledge of PNG Customs procedures and the ASYCUDA World system
- Familiarity with NAQIA, NISIT, and quarantine requirements for import/export goods.
- Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders, including customs brokers, shipping agents, and internal teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to accuracy and detail.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills.
- Qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
