Job Description
- Installing and replacing insulation on pipes, ducts, tanks, and other mechanical systems in industrial facilities. This includes cutting and fitting materials to size, sealing seams, and applying protective coverings.
- Working with other tradespeople, such as plumbers, electricians, and sheet metal workers, to ensure proper insulation integration into the overall project.
- Regularly inspecting existing insulation for damage or wear, and performing necessary repairs or replacements to maintain optimal performance.
- May be required to document work completed, materials used, and any issues encountered.
- Adhering to safety regulations and procedures, including using personal protective equipment (PPE) and handling materials safely.
Job Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 year(s) of working experience is required.
- Candidates must be a Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate holder in Engineering(Others) or similar fields.
- Experience with different insulation materials (e.g., fiberglass, mineral wool, foam) is essential.
- A strong understanding of mechanical systems and the ability to use various tools and equipment is crucial for installing and maintaining insulation.
- Precision in cutting and fitting insulation materials to pipes, ducts, and other surfaces is vital.
- Industrial insulators need to troubleshoot issues and find solutions for unique insulation challenges.
- Effective communication with team members, supervisors, and other trades is important.
- Working at heights, in various weather conditions, and in different industrial settings requires adaptability.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools, reading blueprints and technical drawings, and understanding insulation properties and installation techniques.
