Job Description
- The Hydraulic Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of hydraulic systems and components used in heavy machinery and scrap processing equipment such as balers, shears, grabs, and material handlers
- This role ensures equipment operates efficiently and safely in compliance with Australian standards. Diagnose, service, and repair hydraulic systems used in scrap metal processing equipment.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain hydraulic pumps, valves, cylinders, hoses, and fittings. Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Overhaul hydraulic components and conduct pressure testing for performance and safety. Install and commission new hydraulic systems and components.
- Perform fault finding on mobile and fixed plant hydraulic systems (e.g., excavators, cranes, shredders, shears). Work with electrical and mechanical technicians to ensure smooth operation of integrated systems.
- Maintain maintenance records and service reports according to company and safety standards. Follow Australian workplace health and safety (WHS) regulations.
- Use hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and hydraulic testing devices safely and efficiently. Respond to breakdowns and provide on-site repair support when required.
Job Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 year(s) of working experience is required.
- Candidates must be at least a high school graduate.
- 3 YRS OF CONTRACT, 8 HRS A DAY / 6 DAYS A WEEK
Additional Information
- Proven experience in hydraulic repair and maintenance, preferably in the scrap metal recycling or heavy equipment industry.
- Strong understanding of hydraulic schematics and technical drawings.
- Experience with brands such as Caterpillar, Liebherr, Sennebogen, or Fuchs is an advantage.

- Good problem-solving and time management skills.
