Job Description
- A Senior Storekeeper is responsible for overseeing inventory management, procurement processes, and ensuring efficient storage and distribution of materials within a warehouse or storeroom.
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate stock records, perform periodic cycle counts, and ensure the availability of spares. This includes tracking inventory levels and initiating purchase requisitions when stock approaches minimum levels. 2
- Receiving and Inspection: Oversee the receiving process for all incoming materials, ensuring they match purchase orders. Inspect deliveries for quality and quantity, and document any discrepancies. 2
- Procurement Coordination: Communicate with procurement departments to manage purchase orders and track the urgency of required items. Collaborate with various departments to determine optimal stocking levels for equipment and spares.
- Storage and Organization: Ensure that all materials are stored appropriately according to safety standards and organizational policies. Maintain high standards of housekeeping within the warehouse
- Team Leadership: Lead and train lower-level staff in storekeeping practices, providing technical assistance and ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain records related to inventory activities, including receipts, issues, and stock levels. Generate reports to verify inventory levels and determine reorder activities.
Job Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 year(s) of working experience is required.
- Candidates must be at least a high school graduate.
- Male applicants are preferred for this role.
