Job Description
- Cutting and shaping tiles to fit around obstacles and into odd spaces and corners, using hand and power cutting tools.
- Lay tiles in patterns, ensuring proper alignment and spacing. Grout and seal tiles after installation to protect against moisture and damage.
- Repair or replace damaged tiles as needed.
- Tile setters often work indoors and outdoors, depending on the project. They may encounter various conditions, including dust and noise.
- Interpreting blueprints and building specifications to map layout for tiles, marbles, or granite.
- Aligning tiles and straightening them with straightedges, levels, and squares to ensure patterns are even and precise.
- Mixing, applying, and spreading plaster, concrete, mortar, cement, mastic, glue or other adhesives to form a bed for the tiles using brush, trowel & spatula.
Job Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 year(s) of working experience is required.
- Candidates must be at least a high school graduate.
- Physical stamina for lifting and standing for extended periods.
- Attention to detail for precise measurements and layouts.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools. Knowledge of different tile materials and installation techniques.
- Knowledge of various types of tiles and the techniques for cutting and installing them.
