Job Description
- Oversee daily activities of the buying department, warehouse and distribution operations including receiving, inventory management, order fulfillment, and shipping.
- Maintain existing processes that are set for the buying department and ensure timely implementation of ordering schedules.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement continuous improvement initiatives set by the department head.
- Supervise buying department and warehouse staff, and their performance reviews under guidance from the HOD.
- Oversee the logistics team and ensure distribution routes and transportation / shipping schedules are met for delivery deadlines to the local and outstation branches.
- Supervise and provide hands-on training to the warehouse staff to efficiently manage sensitive or perishable goods like meat, dairy, produce, etc. in order to minimize losses.
Job Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 year(s) of working experience is required.
- Candidates must be a Bachelor's / College Degree holder in Others or similar fields.
- 5 years of experience in purchasing, warehouse, logistics, or distribution management.
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Proficient in computer skills, especially Microsoft Office Suite, Pronto or similar management programs.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
- Knowledge on health and safety regulations in warehouse environments.
- Experience with purchasing, warehousing and logistics.
- Familiarity with cold chain or specialized product handling.
- Prior experience in high-volume distribution center.
- Good communications skills. Physically fit.
- Prepared to travel withing Papua New Guinea as and when required.
