Job Description
- Collaborate closely with designers to understand their vision, sketches,
- Analyze design details, silhouette, fit, and intended fabric to determine the most effective pattern construction.
- Provide expert advice and creative solutions to achieve desired looks while ensuring manufacturability.
- Create master patterns (templates) for various garment styles, using both traditional manual drafting techniques (e.g., flat pattern making, draping on a form) and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software (e.g., Gerber, Optitex, Lectra).
- Draft pattern pieces with precise measurements, accounting for seam allowances, grain lines, notches, dart placements, pleats, pockets, buttonholes, and other construction details.
- Develop patterns for a wide range of garments, including but not limited to tops, bottoms, dresses, outerwear, and accessories.
Job Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 year(s) of working experience is required.
- Candidates must be at least a high school graduate.
- With at least 5 years of related working experience in garments pattern making.
- Should have TESDA NCII or Trade Test Certificates in Tailoring.
- Those with experience working with luxury, high-street, or bespoke fashion brands are preferred.
- Should be proficient in manual pattern drafting and cutting techniques.
- Should have a keen understanding of garment construction, fabric properties, and grading.
- Should possess expertise in creating detailed tech packs and ensuring patterns align with production specifications.
- Should be knowledgeable in garment fitting, alteration and adjustments for various body types.
- Should be competent in marking samples and finished patterns with information such as garments sizes, selection, style, identification and sewing instructions.
- Should be competent in pattern creation for different garment styles and sizes often using drafting techniques or design software.
- Must be competent in the selection of materials for pattern creation and garment production.
- Should be keen on troubleshooting, identifying and resolving design issues or pattern inaccuracies.
- Should have a strong understanding of fashion design, apparel construction and fabric properties.
- Should be knowledgeable in the use of design software, draping and creating 3D prototypes.
- Should have basic math skills for measurements & calculations.
- Must have the ability to maintain professional standards under pressure.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Should have a strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality craftmanship.
