Job Description
- Ability to read and interpret design plans, templates, and technical drawings.
- Measure, cut, and sew upholstery materials for marine applications including boat seats, cushions, canopies, covers, and enclosures.
- Remove old upholstery and prepare surfaces for new applications.
- Install custom marine upholstery to fit various vessel interiors and exteriors with high attention to detail.
- Fabricate and repair soft furnishings such as sofas, chairs, headliners, and wall panels.
- Perform automotive upholstery work on seats, carpets, door panels, and headliners.
- Install curtains, blinds, and other window treatments in marine, residential, and commercial settings.
- Work with a range of materials including leather, vinyl, canvas, foam, and fabric.
- Collaborate with designers, boat owners, or clients to meet specifications and expectations.
- Operate and maintain industrial sewing machines, cutting tools, and hand tools.
Job Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 year(s) of working experience is required.
- Candidates must be a Bachelor's / College Degree holder in Engineering(Marine) or similar fields.
- Must have atleast 5 years of hands-on experience in marine upholstery and Proven experience in furniture and automotive upholstery is required.
Additional Information
- Strong knowledge of fabric types, stitching techniques, and foam densities.
- Proficiency with sewing machines and hand tools used in upholstery.
- Ability to lift and maneuver large or heavy upholstery materials.
