Job Description
- Carry out scheduled and unscheduled calibration of laboratory instruments used in civil material testing (e.g., compression machines, sieves, balances, ovens, CBR machines, etc.).
- Perform preventive maintenance and basic repairs to ensure reliability and accuracy of testing equipment.
- Maintain detailed and traceable calibration records, certificates, and equipment history logs.
- Coordinate with external calibration service providers where required, ensuring all services meet QGOSM/QG Lab Accreditation or ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
- Ensure all lab equipment is compliant with Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS), ISO, ASTM, BS, AASHTO, and other applicable standards.
- Participate in internal and external audits (e.g., QGOSM audits, ISO/IEC 17025 assessments) by providing calibration and maintenance documentation.
- Maintain the calibration master list and scheduling system to prevent lapses in equipment validity.
- Collaborate with technical and lab personnel to validate new equipment, provide troubleshooting support, and advise on proper usage and handling.
- Support safety procedures and best practices in accordance with Qatar’s health and safety regulations and site/lab-specific HSE policies.
Job Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 year(s) of working experience is required.
- Candidates must be at least a graduate of a four-year undergraduate course.
- Male applicants are preferred for this role.
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering (or equivalent technical discipline).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment, preferably in a civil materials testing environment.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment, preferably in a civil materials testing environment. Strong familiarity with equipment used in soil, concrete, asphalt, and aggregate testing.
- Working knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025, and international standards (ASTM, BS, AASHTO).
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, calibration procedures, and certificates.
- Basic troubleshooting skills in electromechanical systems and instrument control.
