Job Description
- Operate heavy haul trucks to transport goods and materials over long distances.
- Plan routes and meet delivery schedules. Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving.
- Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.
- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions. Collect and verify delivery instructions. Report defects, accidents or violations.
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance. Load and unload heavy equipment.
- Driving both semi-trailers (16-meter-long together with the truck) and tandem trailers (truck and trailer, 19-meter-long together with the truck , driving these trailers on motorways and narrow streets.
- Coupling/uncoupling the tractor-trailers, opening and closing the curtains and the roof system.
- Securing the cargo, loading and unloading if necessary, e.g. with a pallet truck for heavier goods, manually for lighter loads as required by the loading place for all drivers.
Job Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 year(s) of working experience is required.
- Candidates must be at least a high school graduate.
- Proven work experience as a truck driver.
- Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly. Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations.
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc).
- With Valid Driving License and LTO Certification with History
