Job Description
- • Carry out duties related to mechanical workshop Monitor and undertake repairs and servicing to all plant and equipment Manipulates or depresses crane controls such as pedals, levers and buttons to regulate speed and direction of crane
- • Coordinate and supervise other employees for works on specialised plant and equipment.
- • Test run plant and equipment following major repairs.
- • Record keeping and maintain plant and equipment service and operation records
- • Assist in the regular checking of tool lists on inventories with appropriate Supervisors and Leading Hands
- • Inspect and supervise major repairs, including ordering of parts required in consultation with the Workshop Manager.
- • Report in writing, all plant and equipment abuse/damage to Workshop Manager.
- • Prepare and monitor plant replacement and maintenance programmes in consultation with Workshop Manager.
- • Carry out diagnostic procedures in a timely manner.
- • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical/hydraulic engines
- • Identify and control issues associated with Heavy Machinery& Equipment.
- • Recommend preventative maintenance programs
- • Compliance with all SH & E policies, procedures, and requirements
- • Following instructions and rules to prevent accidents
- • Taking personal accountability for own safety and at all times being aware of the impact of actions on the safety of others
- • Participating and contributing to the effectiveness of safety activities
- • Immediately reporting and injury, incident or “near miss “encountered during the course of work
- • Assisting other employees in carrying out these responsibilities by support and example
Job Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 year(s) of working experience is required.
- Candidates must be a Bachelor's / College Degree holder in Engineering(Mechanical) or similar fields.
- Minimum of at least 5 years’ experience in a similar role
- Knowledge in servicing and maintenance of all Heavy & Light Machinery/Equipment including heavy trucks & earthmoving equipment. Crushing experience would be a bonus.
- Good verbal and written communication
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
- Tradesman qualification in Automotive Mechanic or related field
- Action oriented, manage decisions and complexity, and cultivate innovation,
