Job Description
- Perform the following onboard ship and in the shipyard, but not limited to SMAW / FCAW plate welding all position, mig & tig welding, saw welding, smaw / fcaw pipe welding combination all position, fcaw / automatic welding, mechanical welder, etc.
- Weld Metal Parts as specified by lay-outs, diagrams, orders or oral instruction using electric ARC or gas welding equipment.
- Guides electrode, filter rods of flux along weld lines and examine welds for size of bead and penetration.
- Tack welds, assembles together and may weld along vertical or overhead weld lines.
- Grinds or chips-off excess weld, slag or splatter.
- Performs cutting and brazing operations.
- Conducts visual inspection and performs non-destructive / destructive test of welds for possible defects.
- Ensure safety at all times, before carrying out jobs in the work premises and in enclosed spaces;
Job Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 year(s) of working experience is required.
- Candidates must be a Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate holder in Others or similar fields.
- Possess a valid TESDA certificate in Welding (SMAW/FCAW )
- At least 2 years of experience as a welder onboard or in shipyard, local or international
