Job Description
- Assist Head Chef: Collaborate with the Head Chef to plan menus, develop new recipes, and create innovative dishes that meet customer expectations and reflect seasonal availability.
- Kitchen Management: Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating. Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards at all times.
- Staff Training and Development: Train and mentor kitchen staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively. Provide constructive feedback and support to encourage professional growth.
- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage food costs to maximize profitability while minimizing waste. Conduct regular inventory checks and maintain accurate records.
- Quality Control: Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency. Conduct regular inspections to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other members of the culinary team, as well as front-of-house staff, to ensure smooth coordination of operations and exceptional customer service.
- Adherence to Policies and Procedures: Enforce kitchen policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations, cleanliness standards, and company protocols. Lead by example and promote a positive work environment.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 2 year(s) of working experience is required.
Candidates must be a Bachelor's / College Degree holder in Food and Beverage Preparation/Service Management or similar fields.
Male applicants are preferred for this role.
- Proven experience as a Chef Sous or similar role in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Strong culinary skills and a passion for food and cooking.
- Excellent leadership and communication abilities.
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
