Job Description
- Follow the procedures and guidelines in all stage of plant growth and farm operation.
- Implement routine daily activities of the general operations in greenhouses.
- Raise healthy, disease free seedlings in the nursery.
- Inspect for pets and disease on daily basis and implement preventive measures.
- Make ready the greenhouse for new plant cycle such as cleaning, washing the nets, preparing grow bags etc.
- Check proper functioning of irrigating pipes and drippers before transplanting seedlings.
- Observe and analyze plant growth, fruit formation, fruit growth and ripening.
- Apply bio-pesticides to control diseases, pests, and viruses.
- Ensure the workers in the greenhouse wear clean uniform all the time and maintain hygienic standard.
- Record monthly use of seeds, fertilizer, biopesticides, planting materials, packaging materials, and maintain enough stock all the time.
- Prepare reports that include observations, findings, result and recommendations.
- Involve in open field cultivation.
- Carry out other activities relating to farm operation.
Job Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 year(s) of working experience is required.
- Candidates must be a Bachelor's / College Degree holder in Agriculture or similar fields.
- Male applicants are preferred for this role.
- Knowledge and ability to use agriculture tools and equipment.
Additional Information
- Horticulturist will be responsible for the entire farm operation both in the greenhouses and open fields. These include growing crops at all the stages of plants from sowing seeds to harvesting and packaging the harvest.
