Job Description
- The work involves assessment of the job to be done, preparation, taping and masking, as there may be minor dent or scratch filling.
- Duties will include day to day maintenance and cleaning of equipment such as spray guns and paint mixing areas.
- Record keeping is all digital and according to the proficiency of the painter, they may use the equipment.
- Further training will be given to meet the needs of the company as required.
- Shift pattern working may be introduced as volume of work increases.
Job Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 year(s) of working experience is required.
- Candidates must be at least a high school graduate.
- Candidate must have at least 3 years experience in body shop or a rapid repair environment.
- Must be capable of sanding and priming using wet and dry sanding methods and suitable spray guns.
- Should be able to use colour matching and paint mixing equipment. (specific training in ChipsAway equipment will be given).
- Should be competent in spraying colour coat and lacquer coats using both water based and solvent based paint systems.
- Must be proficient in flatting and polishing the final repair.
- The painter should be familiar with body shop health and safety practices, although induction will be carried out.
- The painter should be able to work as part of the team and be flexible in the approach to rapid job completion.
