Minimum Requirements

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree required with minimum of five years or more job-related experience. Required Licenses/Certifications
• Preferred registered Cardiac Ultrasound by CCI or ARDMS upon hire or obtained within 1year of employment.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepares for examinations by checking equipment and inventory and restocking supplies; reviewing patient schedules; reading physician orders for specific examinations; entering patient information into health care system.
• Perform and obtain comprehensive, high-quality 2D echo/Doppler flow studies on adult and pediatric and neonatal patient’s accordance with guidelines and department minimum standards.
• Perform contrast studies, Stress Echocardiogram and Dobutamine stress echo
• Assists the physician with Transoesophageal echocardiography and pericardialcentesis.
• Provide a preliminary diagnostic report to physician include an exact assessment of the structure and the function of the heart.
• Participates in unit/department performance improvement activities that impact patient and service outcomes based on professional practice standards
• Provides echocardiography service at all necessary locations, working variable shifts if needed, weekends, and providing emergent call coverage as scheduled.
• Performs EKGs, EKG stress tests and Holter recordings
• Protects patients by adhering to safety policies and protocols.
• Maintain his/her skills through participation in continuing medical education program.
