Protecting OFWs: DMW (formerly POEA) Warns of Fake Recruiters and Expands Healthcare Services

The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW formerly POEA) has issued a warning about the growing issue of fake job recruiters targeting Filipinos seeking work abroad. They stress the need for job seekers to verify job offers through licensed agencies to avoid falling victim to scams, where fake recruiters often charge high fees or offer non-existent positions. To support overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), the DMW (formerly POEA) is also expanding the OFW Hospital, which currently serves the public in San Fernando, Pampanga. Plans include opening additional branches across the country, increasing the hospital's capacity, and offering new services like dialysis, aiming to provide better healthcare access to OFWs and their families.
