Task Description:
- Supervises the activities of assigned group of people from Condition Monitoring and Quality Assurance department. Performs group leader duties at the level established by management for the position. Evaluates and keep tracks of training need for the group and takes necessary steps to meet those. Develops / refers Quality assurance procedures for relevant tasks, develops periodic audit schedules and performs quality audit for subordinate team tasks to ensure compliance and implementation of the developed procedures in totality.
- Assigns condition monitoring relates responsibilities ( plant wise / equipment wise) to subordinates. Reviews critical tasks sets priorities and timelines and monitors results. Maintains job assignments and keeps a track of "Equipment under Alert" list for assigned plant area based on regular on-going condition monitoring activity for the plant.
- Does a regular review with internal team and ensures issuance of "report" for the equipment�s under alert, with recommended corrective action. Ensures that report is clearly specifying clear actionable and recommended time line for the corrective actions
- Ensures on time circulation of the "Equipment under alert" list and report to higher management and respective process and maintenance team to proactively prepare them for corrective actions and seeks feedback for corrective action time lines.
- Clearly communicates equipment severity to the management and highlights the risks for any changed plan / timeline pertaining to corrective action. For the exceptional cases, where in expert help is required from "Rotating Equipment Engineering" section, evaluates the case and coordinates for the support from Rotating Equipment Engineering section.
- Maintains a record of audits / checks performed to ensure data quality / report quality maintained by his staff. Ensures that on line /off line software programs are taken care for timely upgrades. Ensures Machinery name plate data and historical data is available and of good quality.
- Initiates and drives plans for the annual capital budget for condition monitoring team considering tools, training , upgrades, new enhancements / improvements / additions etc.
- Ensures regular management and availability of software alarms, machinery information, base lines data, start-up / shutdown data (for critical machines) and historical data in on line machinery management systems. Regularly drives this with his team and ensures completeness.
- Ensures regular participation and engagement of the team for RCA / RCM process as and when required. Regularly encourages the team for knowledge update and suggesting effective proactive improvement practices for condition monitoring and practices.
- Prepares monthly work activity reports highlighting major exceptions reported Supervisor update. Takes care of critical findings & briefs the supervisor on work progress. Maintains work records & reviews weekly status and special reports per need. Ensures adherence to the existing procedures & develops new as per need. Provides appraisal feedback to the supervisor for his team.
