Job Description
- Prepare and bake a variety of baked goods, including bread, pastries, cakes, and desserts. Develop and execute new recipes and innovative pastry creations while adhering to established standards.
- Ensure consistency and high-quality presentation of all baked items. Monitor baking process, oven temperatures, and baking times to achieve desired results
- Decorate pastries and desserts using artistic skills for an appealing visual presentation. Maintain inventory of baking ingredients and supplies, and place orders as needed.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to plan and execute menu items that complement the overall dining experience. Maintain a clean and organized baking area, following food safety and sanitation standards.
- Train and mentor junior pastry staff, providing guidance on techniques and procedures. Stay updated with industry trends and new baking techniques to continually enhance skills and offerings.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 3 year(s) of working experience is required.
Candidates must be a Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate holder in Food and Beverage Preparation/Service Management or similar fields.
- Proven experience as a Baker or Pastry Chef in a professional kitchen. Culinary degree or relevant certification in Baking or Pastry Arts is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and pastry decoration. Creative approach to dessert presentation and the ability to innovate
- Attention to detail and precision in measuring and baking. Time management skills to ensure timely preparation of baked items
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks. Team player with excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards. Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and weekends.

- Salary is negotiable in accordance with qualification and experience
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy baking equipment. Manual dexterity for precise pastry decoration and handling delicate ingredients
