Job Description
- Responsible to read and implement process card, welding procedure during welding
- Follow the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements,
- Set up components for welding according to applicable specifications,; Operate angle grinders to prepare and adjust the parts required to be welded,
- Check alignment of components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces, Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in applicable positions e.g 1G etc.
- Test and inspect welded surfaces to discover flaws, Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
- Follow relative safety standards and to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.) Completing other temporarily/ permanent tasks
Job Qualifications
- A minimum of 4 year(s) of working experience is required.
- Candidates must be a Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate holder in Engineering(Mechanical); Engineering(Others) or similar fields.
- Male applicants are preferred for this role.
- 2-4 years of experience working with GMAW,/SAW/SMAW welding process in steel making industry.
- Experience using a variety of welding, equipment and procedures (SAW, SMAW, GMAW etc) and using electrical or manual tools (saws, calipers etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings (WPS etc) preferred.
- Valid Qualification and certification in relevant welding process in accordance with applicable code/standard/specification (API 5L, 2B, ASME, AWS D1.1 etc)
- Professional Certification (e.g. an AWS welding certificate)
- Knowledge in Arabic and Chinese is an advantage.
