Job Description
- Responsible for the management of all refrigeration personnel and equipment at Highland Products Ltd. This includes blast freezers, storage freezers, chiller facilities, industrial ice making, industrial AC and Air Handling units.
- The refrigeration manager is required to effectively manage refrigeration personnel, procurement, planning and R&M schedules for all refrigeration equipment at all sites.
- The manager is also required to lead the design, development and implementation of refrigeration-based capex projects as required
- Manage the refrigeration personnel. This includes assignment of daily tasks, as well as recruitment, appraisal and training.
- Establish maintenance procedures and standards for all refrigeration equipment.
- Plan and implement R&M schedules for all HPL refrigeration equipment.
- This includes but is not limited to:
- 10x 10Tons Air Blast Freezers, 8x Cold Storage Freezers, 3x Egg Chiller Rooms, 2x Ice Machines, 3x 10cu.m. per hr Water Chiller
- 10x 40’ Refrigerated Containers, 4x Industrial air-conditioning units, 2x Industrial Air Handling Units and Domestic Refrigeration & AC Units.
- Conduct emergency repairs on HPL refrigeration as required, including communication with suppliers for parts and guidance
- Test and audit the work of subordinate-s to ensure quality standards are met
- Lead the design, development and implementation of refrigeration-based capex projects.
- Responsible for the procurement, storage and management of refrigeration parts.
- Lead energy improvement initiatives. Make recommendations to management that improve operational efficiencies and lower costs.
- Develop and enforce maintenance safety policies. Ensure all staff receive adequate safety training and PPE.
- Provide your staff with mentorship, motivating them to perform at their best
- Design and implement training sessions to upskill the refrigeration team.
- Any other duties requested by management.
- Processing Plant Manager, Egg grading manager, Hatchery manager, Transport manager, and Depot distribution managers.
- Central warehouse manager for purchasing and inventory management
- Workshop & Electrical managers for repairs as required.
- Building manager for capital projects and plumbing as required.
Job Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 year(s) of working experience is required.
- Candidates must be a Bachelor's / College Degree holder in Engineering(Industrial) or similar fields.
- Must be licensed refrigeration mechanic or engineer with a graduate degree, diploma or trade certificate in refrigeration.
- Must have at least 5 years of hands-on work experience in industrial refrigeration.
- At least 5 years work experience in a management role, preferrably in food processing or manufacturing.
- Good command of the English language and a willingness to learn the local language.
- A mature, responsible and energetic character with the ability to solve issues systematically.
- Strong troubleshooting and mechanical repair skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Effective management skills and a team player. Required to organise, lead and motivate the maintenance team to perform at their best.
- Can work in a multi cultural work environment.
- Prepared to work and live in a rural environment.
