Job Description
- • Work Permit: Filipino citizens require a Type A work permit issued by the Voivode (governor of the district)
- • New Regulations: Under the Act of March 20, 2025 (effective June 1, 2025), illegal employment carries fines from 3,000 PLN to 50,000 PLN.
- • Visa: After obtaining a permit, the driver must apply for a Type D national visa at the Polish consulate in Manila
- • Philippine Government: Candidates must also secure an OFW clearance from the Philippine Department of Migrant Workers.
- The Philippines is a party to the Vienna Convention (1968), meaning their licenses are generally recognized in Poland.
- • 185-Day Rule: A driver can use their national license for 185 days after entry.
- • Mandatory Exchange: After 185 days, the license must be exchanged for a Polish one at the local district office (starostwo).
- • No Exam: Generally, no new driving test is required for Philippine license holders.
- • Fee: The fee for issuing a Polish license
- Professional drivers must hold an entry qualification, confirmed by Code 95 in their license.
- • PKZ: Before training, the driver must obtain a Professional Driver Profile (PKZ) from the communication department.
- • Recommendation: It is advised to exchange the license for a Polish one before adding Code 95 to simplify documentation.
- Drivers must possess medical and psychological certificates stating there are no contraindications for the job.
- • Location: Exams must be conducted in Poland by authorized specialists; foreign certificates are not accepted.
- • Validity: Certificates are generally valid for 5 years (2.5 years for drivers over 60).
- Every driver of a vehicle over 3.5 tonnes with a digital tachograph must have a personal driver card.
- • Issuer: The card is issued by PWPW for 5 years
- • Requirements: Requires a Polish/EU driving license and proof of residence.
- This document is mandatory for non-EU citizens performing international road transport for a carrier based in the EU.
- • Application: The employer applies to the General Inspectorate of Road Transport (GITD).
- • Validity: Issued for up to 5 years for a fee.
- • Control: The original must be kept in the vehicle; if the driver leaves the company, the attestation must be returned to GITD.

- Candidates must be a Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate holder in Land Transport or similar fields.
