Job Description
- Responsible for overseeing the buying process, ensuring the timely implementation of buying schedules, efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of a wide range of goods to the branches.
- Work closely with the chief pharmacist, pharmacist managers, warehouse teams, suppliers, and regulatory agencies to maintain stock availability, uphold quality and compliance, and support the company's service delivery across all branches
- Plan, execute, and monitor procurement of pharmaceuticals, OTC medicines, medical consumables, and general merchandise for all company's stores statewide.
- Review sales trends and communicate regularly with store managers to forecast demand, especially for high-turnover and seasonal products.
- Work with the Warehouse Manager on replenishment schedules and stock rotation to reduce expiry risks.
- Source and evaluate reputable suppliers, both local and international (Australia, Asia, NZ), ensuring quality, competitive pricing, and reliability
- Negotiate supply contracts, trading terms, and delivery schedules that align with Chemcare's procurement strategy.
- Manage import-related processes when required, including quotes, pro forma invoices, shipping arrangements, and customs documentation.
- Manage procurement budgets to ensure purchasing decisions are cost-effective and aligned with Chemcare's financial goals.
- Review market prices and negotiate cost savings without compromising product quality.
- Conduct periodic cost audits and propose initiatives to improve profitability and reduce wastage.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and supplier details within Chemcare's ERP or inventory management software.
- Drive improvements in procurement processes, documentation, and digital systems.
- Achieving on-time procurement and delivery targets
- Maintaining optimal stock levels with minimal wastage or shortages
- Ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards
Job Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 year(s) of working experience is required.
- Candidates must be a Bachelor's / College Degree holder in Others or similar fields.
- 5 years of experience in purchasing, warehouse, logistics, or distribution management, IN PHARMACEUTICAL OR MEDICAL INDUSTRY.
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Proficient in computer skills, especially Microsoft Office Suite, Pronto or similar management programs.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
- Knowledge on health and safety regulations in warehouse environments.
- Excellent communication with both local and overseas partners.
- Prior experience in high-volume procurement distribution center.
- Good communications skills. Physically fit.
- Prepared to travel within Papua New Guinea as and when required.
