Job Description
- Perform scheduled servicing, lubrication, and inspections of drill rigs and auxiliary systems.
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic systems across multiple OEM platforms.
- Conduct fault-finding and breakdown repairs on-site and in workshop environments.
- Overhaul and calibrate critical components including compressors, feed cylinders, rotation drives, and mast lifts.
- Test, adjust, and calibrate PLC-controlled and CANBUS-based systems, ensuring accurate drilling parameters.
- Replace and repair worn or damaged components (hoses, wiring harnesses, switches, connectors, sensors).
- Carry out engine and powertrain repairs (CAT, Cummins, MTU).
- Use diagnostic software such as Epiroc RCS, Sandvik DR systems, CAT ET, and Cummins Insite for troubleshooting.
- Maintain accurate work orders, inspection reports, and service documentation.
- Ensure adherence to all site safety, lock-out/tag-out, and environmental procedures.
Job Qualifications
- A minimum of 8 year(s) of working experience is required.
- Candidates must be a Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate holder in Engineering(Mechanical); Others or similar fields.
- Minimum 8 years’ experience as a Diesel or Drill Mechanic in mining or heavy equipment maintenance.
- Trade Qualified – Mechanic / Diesel Fitter (equivalent to Australian Certificate III or IV in Engineering – Mechanical Trade).
- Demonstrated expertise in hydraulic, pneumatic, diesel engine, and electrical systems.
- Strong working knowledge of CANBUS communication, PLC controllers, and electronic diagnostic systems.
- Familiarity with Epiroc, Sandvik, Atlas Copco, Boart Longyear, or similar OEM equipment.
- Must have completed at least 1-year vocational course or one year in college
- Must hold a valid Driver’s License
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong commitment to safety, attention to detail, and preventive maintenance standards
- Equipment Exposure (Preferred Experience) • Drills: Epiroc Pit Viper, Atlas Copco DML, Sandvik DR/DE series, Boart Longyear rigs.
- • Control Systems: CANBUS networks, PLC-based auto-drill systems, GPS/telemetry, and remote monitoring.
- • Power Systems: CAT, Cummins, and MTU engines; Ingersoll Rand and Atlas Copco compressors.
