Job Description
- Conduct mechanical diagnostics, inspections, and fault identification on heavy vehicles and trailers.
- Perform scheduled servicing, repairs, and maintenance on trucks, trailers, and associated equipment in accordance with workshop standards.
- Diagnose, repair, and replace components such as brake systems, suspensions, drivelines, and steering mechanisms.
- Carry out auto-electrical diagnostics and repairs on 12V and 24V systems.
- Execute structural and body repair tasks, including welding and fabrication on chassis, frames, and comb rails of flat-top or curtain-side trailers.
- Ensure all work complies with manufacturer specifications, quality standards, and safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate service records, parts requisitions, and inspection reports.
- Participate in toolbox meetings, risk assessments, and continuous improvement activities.
Job Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 year(s) of working experience is required.
- Candidates must be a Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate holder in Engineering(Mechanical); Others or similar fields.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Diesel or Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, preferably with truck and trailer fleets.
- Trade Qualified – Mechanic / Diesel Fitter (equivalent to Australian Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent).
- Proven experience in diagnosing complex mechanical and electrical faults in heavy vehicles.
- Strong background with Freightliner, Fuso, Mercedes-Benz, Isuzu, and Hino trucks, and airbag or spring suspension trailers.
- Good understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
- Must have completed at least 1-year vocational course or one year in college
- Must hold a valid Driver’s License.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to safety and quality workmanship
