Job Description
- • Perform scheduled servicing, lubrication, and inspections of drill rigs and auxiliary systems.
- • Diagnose and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic systems across multiple OEM platforms.
- • Conduct fault-finding and breakdown repairs on-site and in workshop environments.
- • Overhaul and calibrate critical components including compressors, feed cylinders, rotation drives, and mast lifts.
- • Test, adjust, and calibrate PLC-controlled and CANBUS-based systems, ensuring accurate drilling parameters.
- • Replace and repair worn or damaged components (hoses, wiring harnesses, switches, connectors, sensors).
- • Carry out engine and powertrain repairs (CAT, Cummins, MTU).
- • Use diagnostic software such as Epiroc RCS, Sandvik DR systems, CAT ET, and Cummins Insite for troubleshooting.
- • Maintain accurate work orders, inspection reports, and service documentation.
- • Ensure adherence to all site safety, lock-out/tag-out, and environmental procedures.
Job Qualifications
- A minimum of 8 year(s) of working experience is required.
- Candidates must be a Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate holder in Engineering(Mechanical); Others or similar fields.
- Minimum 8 years’ experience as a Diesel Mechanic working on heavy equipment, fleet vehicles, or trailers.
- Trade Qualified – Mechanic / Diesel Fitter (equivalent to Australian Certificate III or IV in Engineering – Mechanical Trade).
- Proven experience with earthmoving, mining, or construction equipment (e.g. dozers, excavators, loaders, graders, haul trucks).
- Strong diagnostic skills and knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Experience with OEM diagnostic tools and software is highly regarded.
- Must have completed at least 1-year vocational course or one year in college
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
- Reliable, safety-conscious, and meticulous with inspections and documentation
- Equipment Exposure (Preferred Experience): OEMs: Caterpillar (CAT), Komatsu, Hitachi, Liebherr, Sandvik, Volvo, Epiroc.
- Machinery: Excavators, Dozers, Loaders, Haul Trucks, Graders, Drills, and Support Equipment (water carts, service trucks, gensets).
- Systems: CANBUS, hydraulics, braking, fire suppression, and proximity detection systems.
