Job Duties / Responsibilities

·         Ensure the provision of high quality nursing care and support in accordance with the wishes and choices made by the Residents, identifying and taking appropriate clinical and other interventions to ensure their comfort and safety;

·         Identify and taking appropriate clinical and other interventions to ensure their comfort wellbeing and safety of The Residents;

·         Undertake the assessment of nursing needs of new and existing Residents and ensure that their care needs are communicated to HC-One colleagues. Ensure that the Residents Care Plan includes the Resident choices, capacity assessment (as appropriate,) their communication methods, medical, nursing and social care needs;

·         Adhere with the company’s medicines policy and practice, ensuring medication is appropriately received, stored and administered to residents reporting any medication errors promptly and taking the necessary action to keep the Resident safe;

·         Liaise with GP’s and other health and social care professionals to ensure that all aspects of the Residents’ health and social care needs are met;

·         Supervise and direct other Colleagues providing care, including leading shifts, to ensure the provision of care and support to Residents;

·         Ensure that appropriate reporting and recording is undertaken by all colleagues as appropriate, and that all critical incidents are reported in accordance with HC-One procedures and Regulatory requirements;

·         Act as a positive role model for Colleagues in terms of behavior and attitudes, and as required, participate in recruitment and supporting learning and development in the home;

·         Assist the Home Manager for the delivery of clinical services and nursing practice in accordance with regulatory requirements and take responsibility within their absence;

·         Be compliant with National Care Standards, Regulations, codes of practice, legal and company requirements so that HC-One provides a safe service to Residents.
