Marine Engineer

 

Introduction: We are looking for a Marine Engineer who can take care of our fleet of boats especially our large boat called MV ”K20”. See photo attached. We own a company called Sport Fishing PNG. It is a small Sport Fishing charter operation / company based in Papua New Guinea. Established late 2010 (see website: www.sportfishingpng.net the company is located in Port Moresby, the Capital of Papua New Guinea. Apart from Sport Fishing charters in our local town of Port Moresby, we also run fishing charters to the most remote places of PNG via mother ship. We also sell sport fishing tackle and equipment. Outboard motors and small boats. We own a large fleet of charter boats from 3.9 meters to 23.5 meters which needs to be maintained by a Marine Engineer. Our clientele consist of local expats of PNG and international clients mainly from Japan, USA, and Australia. Our company is growing dramatically and with the Fleet of boats we need a Marine Engineer who can assist us with Preventative Maintenance & Scheduling: REQUIREMENTS & DUTIES: - Minimum 5- 10 years in the Marine Industry working on Vessels from 10 – 30 plus Meters. - Able to provide a Preventative Maintenance Schedule for all our Fleet of boats. - Able to work without supervision and complete tasks on a timely manner - Experience with inboard and outboard motors both diesel and Petrol engines, diesel generators including propulsion, shafts, bearings, Hydraulic steering systems - Knowledge of Desalination plants - Marine Electrical 240volt (Australian standard), Air-conditioning and Plumbing skills - Knowledge with 2 pack painting works. - Engineering experience to assist with any mechanical & electrical faults in the vessel. - Working with the Sport Fishing team on a daily basis – communicating well at all times. - A University Degree Holder or certificate in Marine / Engineering. - Able to operate / drive boats and operate outboard motors – not necessary but an advantage - Able to work long hours when necessary. - Must be flexible with his position as it involves all aspects of running a sport fishing operation and therefore a team player is of necessity. - Basic experience with welding steel/ stainless steel Engineering Maintenance Schedule for the Vessel K2O SCOPE: To maintain, service, improve MV K2O to high standards. All parts from bow to Stern. Following maintenance schedules and creating new schedule Engine Room MAIN ENGINE & GENSETS * Oil Changes * Fuel Filter Changes * Water Pump Impellers * Anodes checks * Adjusting tarpets and injectors * Checking pullys, belts and bearings, gear box oil changes * Maintain maintenance schedules * Rust prevention, corrosion prevention and all aluminium * Keeping engine rooms very clean to spot problems early
