R – Control Operator
Job Summary
· Maintains overall control of all aspects of the operational facilities under all conditions.
· Responsible for the safe shutdown and isolation of all items of equipment for servicing.
· Ensures that all conditions of work as per the permit system are followed and signs off or note permits issued in the area of responsibility.
· Ensures all personnel working in the units work safely and follow applicable safety regulations.
Key Results Area
· Controls the operation of process units assigned by continuously monitoring and regulating the condition of the plant using DCS I Analogue Control panel, analysers and alarm systems to ensure safe and efficient operation of the units and equipment under Job Holders'control.
· Adjusts unit conditions and takes corrective action for process parameter adjustments as required to achieve throughput requirements and on specification products within unit limitations.
· Applies emergency procedures in securing the units or any piece of equipment under Job holders' control to safeguard the units and equipment during abnormal or emergency situations
· Troubleshoots and investigates reasons for off specification results and initiates check samples to the Laboratory as required to enable timely adjustments to unit operation so as to prevent routing off-specification products to tankage or slopping of products.
· Explains preparation of equipment for maintenance to Area Outside Operators and discusses safety procedures to ensure proper isolation and securing equipment before any maintenance work begins.
· Checks unit parameters, checklists and run sheets (where applicable), records all maintenance activities, writes turnover at the end of the shift for incoming shift staff, discusses problems and operating changes with Supervisors and position relief to keep abreast of all changes in unit operation.
· Participates in refresher training (including Simulator where applicable), cross trains for other positions as advised by the Supervisor, reads and recommends revisions I corrections in training manuals to ensure that all training manuals are up-to-date.
· Trains operators and trainees assigned to unit/shift and conducts testing on completion of training, verbally checks knowledge and skills of trainees to enhance knowledge and competency of personnel in order to carry out their duties efficiently.
Qualification
· Minimum 6 years experience in Operations Department, including position training with 2 years experience as an Area Outside Operator (AOOP) in the plant under his control.
· Must have demonstrated competency to operate control panel by achieving better than minimum qualification criteria set by the department including Simulator training or other competence tests, as applicable.
· Must have a detailed knowledge of all equipment and procedures relating to unit operations, emergencies,shutdown and start-up activities of facilities,Maintenance and safety.
· Must be conversant with the use of DCS (Distributed Control System) I Analogue Control system, Advanced Control equipment, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's) and Emergency Shutdown (ESD) systems as applicable to area of responsibility.

How To Avoid Illegal Recruitment
- Do not apply to recruitment agencies without a valid POEA license. Also, do not deal with training centers and travel agencies promising overseas employment.
- Do not deal with anyone who is not an authorized representative of a licensed agency.
- All recruitment activity shoold be done at the registered address of the licensed agency. All transactions done outside the registered address of the agency is considered illegal recruitment. If the recruitment is conducted in the province or in a job fair, check if the agency has a provincial recruitment authority.
- Do not undergo a medical examination without a valid job offer and a valid job order.
- Your placement fee shoold only be equivalent to your one month salary abroad (except Taiwan).
- Pay the placement fee only when you have signed an employment contract. Always demand an official receipt reflecting the actual amount paid.
- Do not pay for the visa as it shoold be shooldered by the employer.
- You shoold not pay for placement fee, nor agent�s fee if you are applying as a domestic helper.
