Job Description and Requirements
  • Holder of Engineering Degree and has received specialized training.
  • A minimum of 8 years experience as a master machinist (machine shop operating techniques, custom precision machining methods, mechanical design and leadership techniques).
  • A minimum of 5 years as a metal fabrication foreman with ability to troubleshoot shop floor
  • Actual CNC Machine experience (operating, set-up, programming)
  • Overall knowledge of processing (raw material to metrology to design/application to machining to welding to assembly to packaging)
  • Capable of coordinating issues and working with engineers, machinists, purchasing and vendors
  • Capable of understanding the wide scope of the process including R&D development machining, CNC operations, GD&T with industrial knowledge
  • Experienced in AutoCAD and SolidWorks systems to help machinists
  • Knowledgeable in machining parts for the semiconductor, marine and bio-med industries
  • Industrial knowledge and applications including hi-vacuum, chamber, medical and mechanical
  • Quality systems knowledge including ISO, AS9100
  • Experienced with both non-repetitive and repetitive, high/low volume manufacturing
  • Knowledge of both large production runs and prototype machining
  • Knowledge of material handling equipment, cranes and forklifts
  • Knowledge of and ability to communicate technical and complex material to multiple audiences with differing knowledge levels
  • Knowledge of the Six Sigma processes and the ability to apply Six Sigma principles to production process for continual improvement and operational effectiveness, preferred
  • Ability to identify opportunities to improve current production processes and to implement the necessary steps for the improvements
  • Must be detail oriented
