The machine is a self propelled cutter suction dredger, using an 8 inch pump to operate at dredge depths between 1 and 6.5m. The operator would need to be experienced with this type [cutter suction] as well as conversant with general dredging practices and safety and would generally be expected to supervise a crew of 4 to 5 people.

In addition, the operator would need a good mechanical aptitude as these machines are complicated and do require a lot of mechanical upkeep when working. The operator would be expected to take charge of this upkeep as well as general preventative maintenance.

Experience of this particular make of dredger is not necessary as they are quite generic and share the same principles but would be a bonus for sure.
