• A panelbeater strips, repairs, replaces, fits and adjusts body panels after accident damage or modification. This includes repairing body panels, refitting components, testing electrical circuits after reassembly, testing vehicle ignition, charging, starting, lighting, ABS, body management systems and components. Panelbeaters rely on a wide range of tools, including hand and power tools, precision measuring tools and equipment, together with diagnostic and electrical measuring equipment.
• Common units (Apply safe working practices, Implement and monitor environmental regulations in the automotive mechanical industry, Use and maintain workplace tools and equipment, Use and maintain measuring equipment, Carry out service operations
• Motor vehicle repair environment (Prepare vehicle/component/equipment for customer use, Communicate effectively in the workplace, Inspect technical quality of work, Read and interpret vehicle body repair estimation/quotation, Receive and store stock)
• Repair or replace structural damage (Repair/replace structural damage, Replace major welded panels, Carry out major sectional repair, Repair body misalignment)
• Remove and replace panels (Remove replace and realign bolt on vehicle body panel sections and ancillary fittings, Remove and replace/fit protector mouldings, transfers and decals, Install vehicle body component seals, Remove and replace adhesive bonded panels and structures)
• Panel repair procedures (Carry out pre repair operations, Carry out paint less dent repairs, Repair body panels (metal finishing), Repair body panels (incorporating filler), Repair body panels/components (thermo plastic), Repair body components using lead wiping, Repair aluminium body panels (finishing), Repair aluminium body panels (filling), Repair fibreglass/composite material components)
• Mechanical and electrical components (Remove and replace mechanical units/assemblies, Remove and install electrical/electronic units/sub-assemblies, Remove and replace supplementary restraint systems (SRS))
• Welding services (Carry out oxy acetylene welding, thermal cutting and thermal heating procedures, Carry out manual arc welding procedures, Carry out gas metal arc (MIG) welding procedures, Carry out spot welding procedures)

General Requirements:

• Male; 43 yrs old below; Fit to work
• 6 years work experienced as PANEL BEATER
• Work abroad experienced is an advantage
