Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a cracking refinery with at least 5 years in production planning
  • Must have excellent experience with LP models and should be familiar with product specifications and the blending procedures for different products.

Task Description:

  • Runs the LP model of the refinery to optimize the refinery operation.
  • Updates and enhance the refinery model periodically to reflect changes in the refinery.
  • Develops Operating Plans/Yearly Operating Plans/5-Year Business Plans in coordination with other organizations, verifying any operational constraints prior to submitting the case.
  • Handles planning issues in process engineering activities, performing special analyses and preparing reports for other planning economics related problems as required.
  • Analyzes the product quality giveaway and recommends changes in the process units to minimize the loss from the quality giveaways.
  • Prepares the production loss from any operational upsets planned or unplanned and highlight to all concerned parties both inside and outside the refinery.
  • Issues monthly refinery performance reports.
  • Provides planning and decision support for management in a variety of routine and nonroutine areas, including new opportunities, special requests, and recovery from upsets (unit operations, product blending and inventory control), shutdowns and start-ups.
  • Conducts economic evaluations, prepare special reports, and engage in other project reviews as required.
