Job Title:  Fabricator

Reports to:  Work shop foreman

1.  Purpose of Position: 

Production of high quality conveyor equipment, also general steel work e.g. walkways, platform support steel, hoppers etc.

2.  Accountabilities:

Fabrication: 

·         To produce specialist quality metal products with the result of high quality conveyor equipment & associated steel work

·         To manufacture to required specification, quality and dimension

·         To reliably and efficiently produce machinery within required time frames

·         To undertake activities in correct sequence

·         To seek guidance or advice for technical matters when unsure

Other Manufacture: 

·         To assist in other production tasks when required resulting in overall production fulfilling the customer targets

Safe Working: 

·         Safety procedures are important at Conveyor Industries

·         Regular meetings are held for all employees

·         Suggestions for improvements are encouraged to produce a safe working environment

·         Employee involvement is important for good safety outcomes

3.  Personal Qualifications, Experience and Skills

Experience & Knowledge:

• Indentured tradesperson, ideally holding a trade certificate in fitting/welding, fabrication or boiler making
• 5 years experience in relevant industry
• Experienced with mild steel and or stainless steel and ideally in plate production
• Ability to read fabrication drawings
• Ability to participate constructively in quality procedures
