Work Abroad - Pipe Fitter jobs in Curacao, Netherlands

To carry out duties related to: remove, repair/renew, assemble and test pipeline installations or parts hereof.

Description of the duties:

 Receives information and/or instructions from the supervisor in the form of drawings, outlines and/or procedures; tests conduit-pipes on board; dismounts pipes on board;

 takes measurements of pipes and makes their drawings;

 Removes, repairs/renews, assembles and tests according to instructions pipeline installations with a minor grade of difficulty;

 Transports parts of pipeline installations, with the help of cranes and tackles/hoists;

 Decides if packing should be removed/renewed and carries this out;

 Maintains among others contact with: colleagues of own department and colleagues of other departments.

 Solders pipes of different material;

 Cuts, burns and/or welds pipes by means of autogenous – electric, Mig/Mag and Tag welding;

 Bends pipes mechanically warm;

 Makes pipes using several machines such as: bending machines and burning machines

 Maintains among others contact with: own department and colleagues of other departments.

Activities of the pipefitter / welder:

Welds several types of material by means of: autogenous – electric, Mig/Mag and

Tig welding;

Activities of the pipefitter / smith:

 Takes measurements and makes braces on the pipe-conduits;

 Takes measurements and extension rods/bars;

 Removes and fits brake strings to winches;

 Forges anchor pins

 Directs the anchor pole

Knowledge:

Is required of:

 Reading of drawings

 Composition and the way of construction of the occurring pipe-conduit systems

 in vessels;

 Mounting and dismounting of pipe-conduit installations;

 Calculations of length of pipes and the production of hammer outs;

 Heat treatment in order to bend and direct pieces of pipes and welding methods;

 Knowledge of material and the several types of threads;

 Measurement and adjusting tools and the accuracy in which there has to be worked;

 Working and operating of the hand tools and several machine such as: drill/bore machine,

 Lathe, bending machine, plasma hand-cut machine.

Function directed experience:

 There is a more or less 1 years of experience needed to fulfil this function to satisfaction.

Manual skills/ dexterity:

Is required for:

 Operating several hand tools/equipment; straight and square grinding-machines, bore/drill machine and turning machine

 Use of measuring tools such as water level, graduated water level, protractor and flange hook;

 Attaching and burning of pipes in constrained positions

Complexity

 Work is carried out according to written or oral instructions/indications accompanied by drawings and instructions

 The method and sequence are hardly possible to be chosen freely

Responsibility

Is responsible for:

 Measurements;

 Dismount, repair, build, test and replace pipe-conduits and pipe-conduit installations.

Is required for:
