Scope
Assisting Financial Controller in preparing financial reporting, internal control, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, insurance and accounting; ensuring compliance of all policies in the Financial Management of the Residence and responsible for all related jobs, administering and officiating in the absence of the Financial Controller
Duties/ Responsibilities
•Setting and monitoring of revenue budgets, tariff pricing, monitoring of expenditure
•F & B budgets, pricing, revenue forecast, setting up and monitoring of F&B budgets, monitoring of expenditure
•Determining pricing/revenue forecast, discounting, office contracts, advertising and marketing budgets, monitoring of expenditure
•Payroll accounting and other monetary aspects of staff
•Housekeeping budgets, approval of indent
•Engineering budgets for repairs and maintenance approval of quotations and indents
•Setting up of revenue budgets and monitoring of budgets and expenditure
•Coordinating the organization, staffing, and operational activities for the Accounting Division including financial record keeping and reporting, payroll, business licensing, revenue auditing.
•Identifying opportunities for improving and updating service delivery methods and procedures; review with appropriate management staff; implement improvements.
•Participating in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for the Accounting Division; identify resource needs; recommend and implement policies and procedures.
•Assigning work activities and projects and setting guidelines and deadlines for the staff’s monthly work for timely financial reporting; monitor work flow; review and evaluate work products, methods and procedures.
•Submitting of all statutory compliances, returns and reports as per schedule.
•Ensuring of all payments/disbursements that are legitimately incurred/reimbursed with the appropriate authorization
•Providing relevant and timely response to Corporate accounting queries and requirements
•Communicating of all information regarding policy, budgets and system changes.
•Assisting in preparation of specific statistical reports which may be required by local Management or Area Office
•Guiding staff members of all departments on policies, systems and procedures
•Attending and participating in professional group meetings; stay abreast of new trends and innovations in the field of hospitality accounting.
•Selecting, supervising, training and evaluating staff in order to meet the needs of the hotel.
•Handling all problems with respect to the accounting office except those which have to be referred to the Financial Controller.
Qualifications:
•In-depth knowledge of operational characteristics, services and activities of accounting in the hospitality industry.
•Knowledge of modern and complex principles and practices of hotel accounting.
•Knowledge of principles and standard practices of complex financial record keeping and reporting.
•Knowledge of principles of budget preparation and control.
•Interpret and apply pertinent local laws, codes, and regulations.
