JOB SUMMARY

To lead the engineering team on overall engineering activities and issues. Apply the knowledge and experience to provide guidance and as a mentor to other engineers.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIES

·         Participate in company activities which involve continual improvements on related Processes in Manufacturing.

·         Compliance to environmental legislative when performing routine jobs or special tasks within job scope.

·         Coordinate and liase with related department on any assigned projects.

·         Liase with customer to support new Product Transfer Activities .

·         Ensure the processes are  optimised and support Production Target.

·         Establish the standard operating procedures and trouble-shooting methodologies where apply.

·         Coordinate any ramp plan and lay-out activities with IE.

·         Follow up on equipment/line/product transfer plan.

·         Provide support for overall manufacturing and operation.

·         Able to handle  complex situation/issues

·         Manage subordinate using management by objective methodology.

EXPECTED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Degree in Physics or Engineering discipline especially Optical Engineering (preferable) ,with minimum 3 years relevant working experience in supervisory level or an equivalent combination of education, training and / or work experience.

•        Familiar with the key technologies used in optical components and/or subsystems

•        Manufacturing process experience with optical components is highly desirable

A team player and able to interact effectively with all levels within the company.

Good knowledge in some of the following processes is required: optical fiber management, splicing, manual /auto die attach, wire bond, preferably has pigtail welding, optical alignment, Seam Seal knowledge and material science eg epoxy handling and control (non-conductive, conductive).
