Description of Services

Our client is a passenger transit company based in Western Australia specialising in corporate and government contracts and school transfers. The vehicles include an extensive range of buses from 13 seater minibuses to 60 seater coaches.

 Due to an increasing demand for vehicles the client is seeking urgently 1 x Auto Spray Painter to join their very busy workshop for the service and repair of the company’s vehicles.

In this role the successful candidate will be working closely with the owner of the workshop where they will be preparing surfaces of vehicles, match and mix colours and apply paint.
In this role your tasks will be:

·         removing rough spots on vehicle panels

·         sanding surfaces by hand and with power sanders

·         masking areas not to be painted with tape and paper

·         colour matching and mixing paints to match paint shades, and selecting pre-mixed paint

·         applying primer and finishing coats using spray-guns, and sanding surfaces between coats

·         touching up paintwork and applying polish to vehicles

·         removing masking papers, and waxing and polishing finished paintwork

·         painting signs and artwork on vehicles

·         treating vehicles with rust-proofing chemicals

·         Other tasks such as paint rectification touch up work and preparing the vehicle for use

To be successful in this role ideally the candidate should have the following requirements:

• Minimum of 5+ years work experience
• Strong experience in carrying out repairs, fit panels, mouldings and buffering/polishing
• Must demonstrate experience in prepare panels and equipment for painting
• Be able to apply paint finishes
• Strong background in carrying out auto paint repairs and touch up work
• Knowledge and experience in eye matching paint colours very important
• Must work to high standard and under pressure
• MUST have valid driver’s license
