TITLE: BIO- MEDICAL ENGINEER

DEPARTMENT: ESTATE MANAGEMENT

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for the development, implementation and review of department policies and procedures.

Responsible for the review and completion of all maintenance requisition in a timely manner.

Responsible for assessing the compatibility and safety of all new medical equipment.

Responsible for the establishment and implementation of a preventive maintenance schedule.

Analyses cost/work schedules, set priorities and expedited operations and repairs.

Responsible for the preparation/approval of personnel evaluations/actions within the Biomedical Engineering Section.

Responsible for the preparation of various reports when required.

Participates on safety, procurement and other committees as required.

Participates in QI & PS system control, system improvement, & staff development activities.

Performs other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of his knowledge, skills and abilities

EDUCATION/LICENSURE:

Degree/HNC or equivalent in Electronics

Training and test in Biomedical Engineering

Training in Engineering Management

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of eight (8) years experience in equivalent maintenance

Minimum of two (2) years experience at supervisory /management level

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE: (Desirable)

Current knowledge of related equipment operation

Working knowledge of installation and maintenance of equipment

Ability to read and understand schematic /circuit diagrams and specifications

Knowledge in electronic medical experience desirable.
