POSITION DESCRIPTION
STATUS: Hourly
HOURS OF WORK: 8 hours per day Monday to Friday
REPORTS TO: Shop Manager/Rewind Lead Hand
JOB SUMMARY:
Rewind.repair,recondition, overhaul and maintenance various kinds of electrical apparatus AC &DC Large Motors.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Inspect various kinds of electrical apparatus for damage and evidence of electrical malfunctions.
Test condition of windings according to E.A.S.A. standards.
Illustrate and/or document all relevant data specific to unit’s electro-magnetic characteristics operating conditions, existing damage, or intended serviceability.
Complete repair quotes for repair times.
Dismantle and/or strip damaged or unserviceable electrical apparatus.
Requisition supplies for the rewind department.
Prepare all reusable parts for rewinding, reconditioned, overhaul, repair, and inspect renewed parts for hidden, structural damage or unusual conditions.
Rewind, repair, recondition, overhaul various kinds of electrical apparatus, observing proper insulating techniques and/or requirements during rewinding, reconditioning and overhauling.
Test rewound electrical apparatus according to E.A.S.A. standards and document test results.
Operate specialized repair and testing equipment, including but not limited to: winding machines, test panels, surge testers, core-loss testers, cut off saws, burnout ovens, bake ovens, grinders, cranes, forklift trucks, brazing units, dip tanks, VPI systems, and various handheld power and non-power tools.
Observe all safety procedures and use proper P.P.E.
Ensure that all completed work meets the company’s quality standards
Keep work area neat and clean.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the shop manager.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
5 years experience with Large AC & DC Electric Motors
Good communication skills both oral and written in the English language
