Job Title : SENIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER

Reports To : SECTION CHIEF, QUALITY ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT
Apply mathematical and scientific principles to building design, concentrating on structural demands and functionality while taking into account regulatory, economic and safety factors. Reviews design systems for buildings and for the facility’s site pertaining to, for instance, heating and air conditioning, plumbing, utility services, utility distribution systems, fire protection systems, controls, and so forth. Mechanical Technical Reviewer must be able to diagram designs manually as well as through computer-aided drafting (CAD). The position requires good communication skills. Must also be comfortable in different work environments and be able to divide time between offices and construction sites as required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following while other duties may be assigned.
Researches and analyzes data such as customer design proposal, design criteria, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application. Review engineering analysis and design based on accepted engineering practices to provide the customer with a safe, economic, cost effective, sustainable, buildable, functional and esthetically pleasing facility that meets all of the customer’s requirements. Assure that the mechanical design meets all applicable codes and regulations. Assure that the mechanical design meets all quality assurance/quality control policies and requirements. For all military projects, assure that requirements specific to military installations are met and the product to be provided to the military customer contains the information required. Assure that the product (drawings, specifications, design analysis and so forth) are in the format required by the military customer and military regulations. Attend and participate in all required meetings with staff and customers. Record the meeting’s events, decisions, attendees, etc., and prepare a post-meeting report to document the meeting’s results. Develop and provide reports, evaluations, calculations, clarifications and all other data that is required as a result of customer meetings (or communications). Coordinate with all other engineering disciplines and architect to alleviate all possible conflicts and assure that the project package, as a whole, meets the customer’s requirements. Reviews for correctness all operational manuals, instructions, testing procedures, etc., that may be required by the project. Document and maintain Lessons learned – applicable to mechanical design - for each project.

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university with a minimum of ten years combined mechanical design and field engineering experience; or a minimum of fifteen years combined mechanical design and field engineering experience and/or training.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, and quadratic equations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Microstation 2D & 3D programs and complex design software (Finite Element Analysis, HVAC calculations, etc). Design software; Internet software; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
