Qualifications:

• D.D.S. or D.M.D. from an approved Dental School (American Dental Association approval or equivalent). Diplomate American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, or its equivalent in nations other than the United States. License to practice Oral/Maxillofacial Surgery in the country/state of origin.
• A minimum of 5 years of practice solely devoted to Oral/ Maxillofacial Surgery. Previous administrative experience or formal teaching experience is desirable.

• Assures quality, ethical and cost-effective delivery of oral/maxillofacial surgery within the Medical Services Organization, including but not limited to Dhahran, District Clinics, and Hospitals.
• Assures adequacy of equipment and sterilization for the delivery of related health services in the above facilities.
• Committees membership representing the interests of dentistry and oral/maxillofacial surgery on the hospital and dental committees previously mentioned.
• Quality assurance within oral and maxillofacial surgery and dentistry through continuing education, department and unit meetings, and record and case review.
• Provides diagnosis of conditions of the hard and soft tissues of the teeth, jaws and supporting structures.
• Continuously monitor future needs of manpower, equipment, facilities and training in the specialty area and related fields.
• Screens and recommends candidates for oral/maxillofacial surgery, locums and ancillary staff.
• Contributes to the continuing education of dental and medical staff in regard to the specialty and highest quality treatment of patients.
• Practices oral and maxillofacial surgery by the sum total of diagnostic, remedial and restorative services rendered to patients.
• Performs emergency treatment.
• Performs Major oral surgery and Minor oral surgery.
• Performs pre-prosthetic surgery.
• Provides outpatient and inpatient treatment.
