Job Description Summary

 

The Sales Engineer should have the capability & experience of selling TME Products and Services for manufacturer or distributor to business and industrial establishments or individuals at sales office, store, showroom, or customer's place of business using TME policies, procedures, and management guidance.

Educational Background And Needed Skills  

Ø  Bachelor's degree (B.S.c) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from four-year college or university; or at least three to four years motor sales experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Ø  Fluent in English language.

Ø  Basic Computer skill (Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook Express E-Mail)

Ø  Positive, outgoing attitude with exceptional closing skills

Ø  Ability to build and maintain excellent relationships with clients

Ø  Ability to initiate and stimulate cooperation within a team

Ø  Ability to recognize problems reacting quickly and effectively to resolve them

Ø  Excellent communication and management skills

Ø  Good presentation and negotiation skills

Ø  Good team working skills.

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Ø  Compile lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources

Ø  Plan and implement specific actions, in accordance with the Sales & Marketing Manager to improve customer service, and produce profitable sales

Ø  Identify customer sales potential, credit risks, and other important facts or impressions

Ø  Report sales potential, credit risks, and other important facts or impressions to the Sales & Marketing Manager on regular basis.

Ø  Provide coverage of all assigned customers and develop additional sales in the total geographic territory and market segments assigned

Ø  Follow Sales Dept policies and procedures for pricing levels and selling policies.

Ø  Maximize profitability and minimize risk in each selling opportunity

Ø  Travel throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders, or talk with customers on sales floor or by phone

Ø  Use the selling tools provided by TME such as company car, expense account, product samples, and support of branch employees, in a cost effective manner

Ø  Develop relationships and negotiate favourable pricing, credit, and delivery terms with approved suppliers

Ø  Display or demonstrate product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes sellable features

Ø  Quote prices and credit terms and prepare sales contracts for orders obtained

Ø  Estimate date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of manufacturer production and delivery schedules

Ø  Prepare reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts

Ø  Continually improve product knowledge and selling skills through independent study and training provided by TME.

Ø  Develop a team working relationship between all employees

Ø  Track stock levels (If any)

Ø  Enter new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database

Ø  Develop and maintain relationships with purchasing contacts

Ø  Investigate and resolves customer problems with deliveries

Ø  Attend trade shows

Ø  Assist the Financial Controller, Administration Manager and Sales & Marketing Manager in exercising TME policies as they pertain to the extension of credit, the collection of accounts receivable, the attainment of acceptable days outstanding, and the minimization of potential losses

Ø  Make reports and proposals to TME management that improve the overall performance of TME, limit impending problems or losses, and expose unethical behavior

Ø  Report results and unusual situations to Branch Manager

Ø  Participate in the implementation and the continual improvement of the quality management system ISO 9001:2008

Ø  Exceed or at least meet the Sales Target set by the Sales & Marketing Manager in an effort to achieve the overall Sales Target assigned on the Sales & Marketing Dept by the Board.

 

Competencies:

1.       Excellent verbal and written communications skills

2.       Reasonable Knowledge of ANSI & IEEE specs

3.       Strong mathematical background with electrical and mechanical aptitude.

4.       Familiar with Saudi Market, customers & area.

 

Education/Experience:

1.       Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

2.       Minimum 3 years motor Sales Experience preferably in Medium & High Voltage motors.
